After over 40 years of development as a musician, designer and scientist, a fundamentally distinct approach to music came into existence. The passion of TESAM is modern music with roots in folk and blues. It can be regarded as rock 'n' roll or rock.
Most of the inspiration comes from American culture, mainly music and cinema. The American Dream is an important phenomenon in this regard.
The term is coined by writer and historian James Truslow Adams in 1931 with his book The Epic of America. Transposing this into the European Dream is something we think is necessary.
A good example of the difference between cultures is that in English there are only musicians, but in the Netherlands there is a division between 'musici' and 'muzikanten'. In other Western cultures there is a similar cultural division, but without the seperation regarding the name of the profession.
The founder of TESAM decided to stop using this division in 2018
He didn't belong to one of these two professions due to his affinity.
He therefore defines himself as a (designing) musician.
